Is it possible to postpone the full deprecation of the dependencies API?

Some people were caught off guard by Monday's brownout.

The deprecation blog post mentions that no user-facing impact is expected, so I just wanted to note that there is at least some impact for users of Artifactory and Nexus:

My personal observation is that gem 3.1.6 and bundler 2.1.4 cannot fetch gems from updated versions of Artifactory (7.55.9) with compact indexing enabled. Those gem and bundler versions are old, of course, but not quite as old as the versions mentioned in the blog post :).
