Merge #116

116: Add check for underlying tool and install hint r=Emilgardis a=fishrockz

This addresses #113 or at least the eventual issue of not realising that i had not installed everything needed.

I am not sure this is ideal but seems to work ok. I'm happy to adapt etc I only know the code base enough to test this out locally and have something helpful to me.
