[Bug]: Volume buttons huge jump in number of steps with each press

Bug Description

After installing install essentials app, each press of the volume buttons cause the volume to increase or decrease widely (4 to 5 steps each time).

Not too sure which setting in the app causes this. After uninstalling, behaviour returns to normal.

I am using essential to add NFC and caffeine tiles and freeze a couple of apps.

App is in rooted mode and all permissions given.

Expected Behavior

Each press of volume buttons should only increase or decrease the volume by one step.

This is due to when using shizuku I have to manually handle volume button inputs. Can you try disabling the use shizuku/ root toggle in button remap and see if it's the same or not?

I tested it on a clean install. As soon as accessibility is enabled the volume buttons seem to randomly skip steps. Button remap is disabled. I'm on 10.1.

That is weird, I tested and it does the exact 15 steps Android by default has for me... can you check if your volume buttons work as usual in camera app or so to trigger it's in app features like capture? It should work.

At the moment I can't figure out what's causing it.. will continue to test... If possible, maybe email the screen recording to mail@sameerasw.com hoping it might give a clue. Thanks.

I just send you the screen capture. There's a minimum of 1 second between each volume change, you can see how it randomly changes another 1-2 steps randomly.

Ohhh are you using with root/ shizuku? I made so even if we enable shizuku, it gets used only while the screen is actually off but it seems like it's volume button default behavior handling part is still affecting even while the screen is on which should not happen. Shizku/ root handling of the button input could be a bit buggy at the moment which I think is happening here.

I am using root, and enabled use root instead of shizuku. Now I have disabled root access as well as shizuku access it does seem to work correctly.
