When used together with canopy-iiif, the annotation view gets too crowded:

Suggestions:

  • overlays should not be on by default
  • annotations tab should not be open by default if information panel is set not enabled
  • annotation text in tab should more obviously clickable

Sample manifest:
https://samvera-labs.github.io/clover-iiif/docs/viewer/demo?iiif-content=https://iiif.tiju.ca/bnbr_sophia_60996/manifest.json

I also notice this behavior. As soon as the manifest contains annotations the information panel is visible even if the options.informationPanel.open is set to false.

Furthermore, if the user explicitly hides the information panel and continues to browse the images, the information panel pops up.

For example this manifest is missing the annotation entries: https://iiif.harvardartmuseums.org/manifests/object/299843

actual (clover-iiif): https://samvera-labs.github.io/clover-iiif/docs/viewer/demo?iiif-content=https%3A%2F%2Fiiif.harvardartmuseums.org%2Fmanifests%2Fobject%2F299843
expected (mirador) : https://projectmirador.org/embed/?iiif-content=https://iiif.harvardartmuseums.org/manifests/object/299843
