There is a lot in progress in the back ground also if the activities such like weekly releases are going to degrease.
The camera is at the moment, apparently quite stable, no reported issues from your side actually received and I think around 250 if not more of you are using this integration, therefore.. well I think we did a great job :)

Never the less, the idea is to make thinks easier for Valetudo users.. I mean no manual setup or complicated procedures, files to edit and setting to do or SSH the vacuums for adding add ons to simply enable well.. what the vendors provide.. I did just converted my S5 to Valetudo Re and..
well currently debugging the images are now produced I found out that the data are compressed and this is why the 1.5.0_beta.1 didn't work.
Once fixed the images we also had problem with the calibration points.. but no problem.. we already knew it could happen and well it is fixed...

So in summary this what we are going to do here:

• Will actually soon I guess release the v1.4.8, adding support Valetudo Re, in fully tested mode.
• We would then should have some feedback and probably fixes to do.. so v1.4.9 could kick in the middle.

Meanwhile and as soon I would focus to make easier the camera configuration as following (target is v1.5.0 round number):

1. If setup is done for the first time, you will select the vacuum only and the camera start.
2. By default we will add some trimming to the images as well the image will be cropped 50%, the colours will be default. We will not enable the images snapshots to default ON.
3. Will be possible to configure the options later, the difference will be to have a kind of menu.. image options / Base Colours / Room Colours selecting what we want to do... only one page will be shown per time, this is also because.. well there are other options coming soon.. as per we could actually.. will explain later ;) there will be a little to redesign on the frontend part of the configuration, so this takes a while...

In summary.. I think the releases are going to be less frequent as before.. we are in a quite stable situation code wise, therefore this is just to, for what it is wort.. document what is going on in the back ground and, off course by sharing this..

Well we need now to update, we are close to release the V1.5.0 and of course as promised this release will be including:

• Improved configuration menus.
• Setup will be just select the vacuum entity to use..
• We will not need to setup the cropping and trimming anymore as per this will be automatically done from the camera. Meaning that you will be able to simply setup the margins around the image (by default 150px on top, bottom, left and right). This would avoid to do back to the configuration each time we need to change the trim.
• We are splitting the settings of the rooms colours so that on the mobiles will be more easy to focus on the changes.
• We fully support the Valetudo Re vacuums now so, there will be not that much changes on this point.
• We are going also to add a function to generate the scripts for A, G or Assist to start the cleaning cycle.. not sure if this will be included on 1.5.0 but for instance.. within the end of this year ;)

I've been working on the card of @PiotrMachowski you can check the link to see what is going on the background.. anyhow this will take a little and we will probably get an update of the card soon too :)

Unfortunately there is still something to do on the calibration data after the auto trim is executed, will update the version as soon I found a solution for it ;)

I finally solved the calibration data issue, at this point.. well we're almost ready to release 1.5.0.. this release will be full of new features.

1. easy steps to configure the camera, including the remodeled options menu;)
2. auto cropping and trim the images.
3. the camera will wait that the image is completely rendered and then process the next data from MQTT, this should solve an issue that was reported from an user using VM environment, by the way today I noticed that there's something strange going on the new versions of HA supervised. If the vacuum is working in parallel with the updates of HA, HA becomes unresponsive.. has anyone else noticed that?
4. not worked out yet, but it shouldn't be a big issue to develop it, will implement a function that will create the scripts for controlling the vacuums, at the moment for predefined zones and segments only.

Will later also post updates related to the new version of the card.

Well it was a quite long journey but.. finally we have it.. v1.5.0 is out.. there are still a couple of ideas and will focus on those within the end of this year.. one think I would honestly change is the report of the vacuum position.. when the vacuum has rooms (segments) attribute the position of the vacuum should be reported as.. room name instead of coordinates.. this would make easy to stop/pause the vacuum when we are in that room (in the end this why we use Home Assistant right?).
I did open a new discussion for the v1.5.0 and I would ask you guys to live some feedback in there so that eventually we can propose some improvements as well.
It would be really appreciated to know if you like the new options menus offered on v1.5.0 and if the auto crop and trim is actually working as expected for you too.
We can always add back the trims as before as per the data are still keep in the camera config.. I thought that some of you would appreciate that the previous setup data aren't lost.. de facto I can imagine some of you would prefer the way it was before..
Anyhow.. this project goal was simply.. to render the Valetudo Vacuums (no matter what flavour) without to get crazy with the installation of the render.. and I guess.. we made it ;)
But of course.. if we can get the best to interface the vacuums with Home Assistant.. well.. let's do it ;)
