Attempted to build against LLVM 8 but failed with numerous compilation errors. Anyone looking at this or can I have a go at getting working?

#46 may help you. (It's apparently for 5.1, but I've been using something much like it for 6, so maybe 8 works too.) I don't fully understand why it was closed or what relationship this repo has with the repo linked from there.

I have a working version regarding LLVM8 here. I plan on eventually making it mirror this repo structure and give it back upstream.

Sadly I haven't had time to do so.
