Not sure if I have reported this before, but with this text:

\v 70-71 खुङगीइ उःला उःइ टाःलाङगीइ लाःक्पालाःम्‍ले
\q ओःले उःला हेला पेःगेनक्याइ लाःक्पालाःम्‍ले थार्च्युगेन एः
\q लाःकेन ताम राःङगीइ लेःङ्‍गो तेर्केन्दी चाङ्मा मीःक्यालाःम्‍ले ताःम्ज्या पेःसीःङ्दी एःके।

After typesetting two-columns, this comes out on the right hand column and the 70-71 extends left into the left hand column. A screen shot is attached.

I did make this alteration (which resulted in the screen shot):

at LUK 1:70-71 "उःइ टाःलाङगीइ" > "उःइ\n\q2 टाःलाङगीइ"

but the position of the verse numbers remained unchanged.

Also attached is the archived version of Luke.

Any suggetions most welcome!

Yes, you reported this here: #1005 Have you checked that the separator is a normal minus, (both in the USFM and that you don't have any changes file entries that would change it to something else)?

I think the issue here is that only "Marginal Verses" allow you to stack the verse numbers like this:

But "Hanging Poetry Verse Numbers" don't stack:
