Description

The worlds needs the Silverstripe-official way to do links beyond the existing constraints of a WYSIWYG editor. Let's create that! Let's make a formally supported (and reliable) way to content manage links in those vital places across a site where links are often stand-alone or hardcoded, and want to live their best life as a managed link instead.

Big story

As Silverstripe CMS developer I want a supported and formal way to implement link management for my content authors.

As a Content Author, I want a Silverstripe-standard method for editing links in the CMS, so that I can ensure links are consistently authored across all applications under my care.

Success metrics

An official LinkField is gaining adoption, is the preferred solution by Silverstripe bespoke, and has successfully had new Link types added to the base Link types.
