Can't get mailboxes verified #2444
-
I created a simplelogin account and added a couple of mailboxes successfully (mine an my wife's). I needed to add additional boxes for other family members so I created them all and then saw that the verification email needed to be answered within 15 minutes, and that wasn't actually possible at that time. The instructions on the page said to resend the email, the process was to delete the mailbox and add it again. Now, when I add those mailbox addresses again, the email goes out to the email for verification and when the person hits the verify address button, it takes them to a page that says 'welcome back' and that they need to log into their account. The problem is that they never created an account, and the email won't pass the verification. In one instance, we tried creating an account for that person, but the mailbox verification still wouldn't work. We;ve tried multiple times to delete/create the account, but no luck. I have put a ticket in a few days ago, but heard nothing so far so I am trying to reach out here to see if there is any help. |

For security reason, the mailbox verification has a short expiration time. Mailboxes are meant to be ones that you own, not for other people actually. |

Just following up with the answer - it appears that, by design, to complete the mailbox verification process, you have to log into the simplelogin account that is creating the mailbox. from my perspective, the email mailbox verification was already initiated by logging into my account, and there is a short, 15 minute window, to complete the verification, So, you are already pretty well protected from suspicious activity. The email address verification should just be a single click activity such that the additional login is unnecessary. I'm going to add this as an issue to the github repo as this seems to be a shortcoming. |
