<p>The Dastak Foundation has begun its journey towards its mission of empowering women andchildren through different means. Keeping its mission and vision in view, the Foundationconducted its first awareness programme on cleanliness among a group of school children inHaldwani, Uttarakhand on December 3, 2016.</p>
<p>A team of the Dastak Foundation, including its Presdient Ranjeeta Jha and General Secretary AjayJha made this maiden and appreciable effort and organised a cleanliness camp among a group of80 school students belonging to Devbhumi Academy, Manpur West, Haldwani. With the supportof school administration (Founder- Bhagirathi Bist & Principal- Puja Bist) and Block President(Bhola Dutt Bhatt) , the Dastak Foundation conducted a quiz competition on cleanliness andhygiene and a painting competition on the theme of ‘Swacchta Abhiyan’. Children also expressedtheir view on the cleanliness by delivering extempore speeches. They made the programmeinteresting by exhibiting their talent of singing. At the end of the programme a token ofappreciation was presented to all children in the form of small gifts.</p>
<p>Though, students were from primary level (class 1 to class 5), but their keen participation into theprogramme was highly appreciable. The Dastak Foundation’s message on the ‘Swacchta Abhiyan’was rightly received by the small children. In fact, the Foundation takes this stepping stone as amile stone in its journey towards its mission and plans many more such programmes in comingdays and ready to explore new avenues for disseminating its vision of empowering women andchildren in order to bring some substantial changes at grass-root level.</p>
