Hi

I have now experience multiple times that my thermostats are not turned down/shut off when the desired temperature is reached. Today i had 4 thermostats running af 30 degress even though the rooms measured 25 degrees and the desired temperature was 22.

I am using Zigbee2MQTT with these thermostats: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/GS361A-H04.html

I’m experience the same.
Roommind is showing the rooms to be in Standby mode after the Temperature is reach.
But the thermostats is still set to 40 degress as when it is in heating mode.

I have tried version 1.5.1 and 1.6

Hi, I’ve also been experiencing this issue. Thermostats will randomly stay at 30 °C and never turn off. Meanwhile RoomMind does not seem to be aware of this. It’s been happening with all thermostats. I’m using the Aqara E1 thermostats.

@snazzybean see the attached files for one example. This is my box room, it has a window but no direct sunlight, the door is mostly closed. The temperature kept rising because the radiator was on full blast (30 °C). The point it drops off again is when I noticed it and manually turned the thermostat to off. In the dashboard the radiator was off the entire time.

I can chime in with a me-to... I just starting using this plugin, as I truly love the idea behind it. But I'm seeing the same behaviour.. My thermostats aren't being turned off/turned down..

Using Waving AHC9000 room thermostats with underfloor heating, controlled in HA through an ESP32.

In the pictures you can see that RoomMind believes only one room should be heating right now.. But in fact three rooms are now turned to 35C.

I've had the same issue with 2 different TRV's as well. RoomMind says the room is in Standby but the TRV is maxxed out and the room continuing to heat.

Sorry about this one.

I think the issue was an internal command cache that prevented RoomMind from retrying failed "off" commands. If a TRV missed the turn-off (Zigbee message lost, firmware quirk, etc.), RoomMind assumed it went through and never tried again. The TRV then kept heating at the old boost setpoint.

Should be fixed in v1.6.1-beta.1. Would appreciate if you could test and report back.

@Mikkelsendk Thanks for the diagnostics, super helpful. I can see the fix is working (the off command is being sent), but your Wavin device isn't responding to it. stor_bad shows ha_state: heat with temperature: 40 even though the last command was set_hvac_mode(off).

Quick question: can you try manually calling climate.set_temperature on that thermostat through HA (e.g. via developer tools) with something low like 16°C? I want to know if the device actually responds to temperature changes. If it does, I can add a safety net that also lowers the setpoint when turning off, so even if the device ignores "off", it won't keep blasting at 40°C.

The Wavin unit responds when a temperature is sent, such as the 40 degrees set for heating.

But it does not know an off command.

The unit works by opening the valve (heating) when the temperature is 0.2 degrees below the current temperature.

It does the opposite when it closes the valve.

So to turn off, a temperature below the current measured temperature must be sent.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. The issue is that the device reports off in its hvac_modes, so RoomMind assumes it actually supports turning off that way. Sounds like the Wavin integration might be setting that incorrectly. Either way, I'll add a fix that also lowers the setpoint to min_temp when turning off, so the valve closes even if the device ignores the off command. Will push a new beta soon.
