Where do i find the EDC IDS Metadata Broker Extension? #669
-
I noticed that the extension apparently has been removed. Is there still a way to communicate with an IDS Metadata Broker? |

Hi, Since EDC CE v5.0.0 we are using core-edc v0.2.1 under the hood. Core-edc v0.2.1 relies on the Dataspace Protocol (DSP) for communication and no longer supports the old IDS-protocol. As a result, our EDC CE from v5.0.0 no longer supports the IDS-protocol, which would be necessary for communication with the IDS-Metadata-Broker. By consistently removing this IDS-protocol based broker-extension, the EDC CE no longer sends messages to an IDS-Metadata-Broker from v5.0.0. The same applies to the IDS ClearingHouse Extension. There are now more modern approaches to setting up a central broker. For a data space, for example, we built a broker based on our EDC CE v7.0.0, which proactively crawls the data offers of the EDCs in the ecosystem on a regular basis and displays them instead of an EDC/connector having to send messages to the broker. |

Hi,
the broker-extension mentioned is supported up to sovity EDC CE v4.2.1. Until then, the core-edc Milestone-8 was under the hood of our EDC CE. Milestone-8 included the IDS-protocol for communication, which the central IDS-Metadata-Broker relies on for communication.
