abstract = {Unter einem ,,Digital Mindset`` verstehen Wissenschaftler oft in einem normativen Sinn, dass sich das menschliche Denken an die Bedingungen der digitalen Welt anzupassen hat: Exponentialit{\"a}t, Geschwindigkeit, Flexibilit{\"a}t, Ambiguit{\"a}t, Aufhebung von Zeit und Raum.

abstract = {The development of innovations lead to high pressure for small and medium sized businesses, especially for those who offer industrial services. Industrial service companies are mostly B2B provider and are dependent on large firms who are the contracting authority. Therefore, the industrial service provider need to innovate their portfolio to keep pace with their customers' demands and a rising digitization. This challenge is enhanced through less resources and innovation development departments in comparison to large firms. This article focusses on transforming an alleged weakness into a strategic strength by presenting a collaboratively developed Design Thinking approach specialized for the needs of industrial service provider. Design Thinking is an interdisciplinary approach where internal and external stakeholder creatively develop prototypes for a corporate implementation. However, the original version of Design Thinking focuses on products rather than industrial services, which requires an adaptation for industrial service provider. Furthermore, a collaboration with diverse stakeholders needs to take into account an analogue as well as a digital performance, which will be discussed in this paper. In the following sections, specific and general challenges of industrial service provider as well as Design Thinking are presented. Afterwards, an Action Design Research approach is presented and within that ten Design Thinking workshops that led to an adapted and digitized approach especially for industrial service innovation. We can reveal that Design Thinking is a suitable approach, which can structurally be adapted to the specific target group. Nonetheless, an open mindset of the collaborators is pivotal.},

abstract = {In der eigenen Organisation die F{\"a}higkeit zur rasanten Ver{\"a}nderung zu verankern und es zu einer agilen Einheit weiterzuentwickeln geh{\"o}rt heute zu den wichtigsten Aufgaben von F{\"u}hrungskr{\"a}ften.
abstract = {Both family business and entrepreneurship are well established topics that attract considerable attention in research and practice. Yet the overlap of both topics - entrepreneurship in family firms - is still a relatively young and unexplored field. The aim of this dissertation is to study the predictors of entrepreneurship in family firms and specifically to explore how the family mindset impacts the entrepreneurial behavior of family firms.
To this end, agency and stewardship theory are employed to form a complementary framework where each theory is used to depict one of two idealized, opposing family mindsets which are then linked with entrepreneurial behaviours of the family business.
In accordance with these theoretical assumptions, a research model to predict entrepreneurship is developed and tested on a sample of 134 family businesses from the German speaking region.
Using multiple regression and correlation analyses, the study demonstrates the importance of family mindset for entrepreneurship in family firms. Moreover, the findings illustrate that the impact of a particular family orientation is not univocal for all family firms but conditional to the characteristics of the family business at stake which supports the general need for a more differentiated treatment of family influenced firms.
On a theoretical level, the study supports the complementary use of stewardship and agency theory to model business family mindset and corresponding behaviors. Yet in contrast to the prevailing opinion, this study shows that agency elements can have positive implications for entrepreneurship in family firms, while stewardship elements can indeed have negative consequences in certain settings.},

Some authors state that if global leaders have all the necessary capabilities, but lack a global mindset, they are not effective. There are a number of reasons to explain why a global mindset is a prerequisite for global leadership behavior. First, a global mindset brings to the global leader a broader scope to business opportunities and events in the social environment. Since global leaders work in the global business arena, they must have a comprehensive overview of what is happening in the world relevant to their company. New ideas or innovations generated in one part of the world may sooner or later impact on business in other parts of the world. These continuous business developments could be a blessing or threat to their company's competitive position. In other words, the complexity of the business environment, the multiplicity of choices enabled by globalization, and the pace of change demands from managers with global responsibilities to constantly scan the world for new opportunities or challenges.},

abstract = {The plural agency is a self-referential, self-regulating, self-organizing, adaptive, pro-active and culturally stable collective, having a normative personality belonging to a psychosocial framework of the "collective mind." The agency can be characterized by Mindset types, a derivative of Maruyama's Mindscape meta-theory -- a little known but powerful epistemic approach that can anticipate an agency's patterns of behavior and demands. A Mindscape is a construct from which coherent sets of behavioral mind-sets can emerge. However, Mindscape theory lacks generative transparency, and the Mindset theory we develop changes this. Mindset Theory is based on the Sagiv-Schwartz (2007) cultural values study from which eight Mindset types are generated that individually or in combination can characterize personality and anticipate behavior.},

These creative mindsets may be perceived as a subset of implicit theories of creativity that specifically relates to perceived sources of creative potential. Intriguingly, recent research demonstrated that in the case of creativity, people hold both mindsets, which\textemdash{}albeit negatively correlated\textemdash{}do not necessarily form two ends of one continuum. In this chapter, we focus on the most striking theoretical questions related to the current state of the research on creative mindsets and discuss future directions of these studies.},

abstract = {Because challenges are ubiquitous, resilience is essential for success in school and in life. In this article we review research demonstrating the impact of students' mindsets on their resilience in the face of academic and social challenges. We show that students who believe (or are taught) that intellectual abilities are qualities that can be developed (as opposed to qualities that are fixed) tend to show higher achievement across challenging school transitions and greater course completion rates in challenging math courses. New research also shows that believing (or being taught) that social attributes can be developed can lower adolescents' aggression and stress in response to peer victimization or exclusion, and result in enhanced school performance. We conclude by discussing why psychological interventions that change students' mindsets are effective and what educators can do to foster these mindsets and create resilience in educational settings.},

abstract = {In this target article, we present evidence for a new model of individual differences in judgments and reactions. The model holds that people's implicit theories about human attributes structure the way they understand and react to human actions and outcomes. We review research showing that when people believe that attributes (such as intelligence or moral character) are fixed, trait-like entities (an entity theory), they tend to understand outcomes and actions in terms of these fixed traits ("I failed the test because I am dumb" or "He stole the bread because he is dishonest"). In contrast, when people believe that attributes are more dynamic, malleable, and developable (an incremental theory), they tend to focus less on broad traits and, instead, tend to understand outcomes and actions in terms of more specific behavioral or psychological mediators ("I failed the test because of my effort or strategy" or "He stole the bread because he was desperate"). The two frameworks also appear to foster different reactions: helpless versus mastery-oriented responses to personal setbacks and an emphasis on retribution versus education or rehabilitation for transgressions. These findings are discussed in terms of their implications for personality, motivation, and social perception.},

Two of them are discussed in this article: polyocular vision, in which the differences between images obtained from many angles enable the brain to compute invisible mental coordinates; and illusion of understanding, in which a person is convinced that he or she has a perfect understanding while missing the most important points of others. Job rotation and quasi-rotation help cultivate polyocular vision. On the other hand, concept inbreeding in an organization poses a barrier to polyocular vision. Intellectual outbreeding is facilitated by establishing conceptual `free trade zones' such as the Peripheral Vision section in this journal.},

The theory holds that individuals with growth mind-sets (beliefs that attributes are malleable with effort) enjoy many positive outcomes\textemdash{}including higher academic achievement\textemdash{}while their peers who have fixed mind-sets experience negative outcomes. Given this relationship, interventions designed to increase students' growth mind-sets\textemdash{}thereby increasing their academic achievement\textemdash{}have been implemented in schools around the world. In our first meta-analysis (k = 273, N = 365,915), we examined the strength of the relationship between mind-set and academic achievement and potential moderating factors. In our second meta-analysis (k = 43, N = 57,155), we examined the effectiveness of mind-set interventions on academic achievement and potential moderating factors. Overall effects were weak for both meta-analyses. However, some results supported specific tenets of the theory, namely, that students with low socioeconomic status or who are academically at risk might benefit from mind-set interventions.},

After controlling for systematic measurement error stemming from different directions of item wording, the indicators form a single dimension. Moreover, hypotheses concerning (non-)correlations with socio-demographic characteristics and psychological dispositions largely receive support from the evidence. Further, beliefs about the malleability of personality exhibit higher intra-individual stability than attributions when controlling for measurement error in structural equation modeling. However, beliefs do not influence these attributions.},

abstract = {There are many promising psychological interventions on the horizon, but there is no clear methodology for preparing them to be scaled up. Drawing on design thinking, the present research formalizes a methodology for redesigning and tailoring initial interventions. We test the methodology using the case of fixed versus growth mindsets during the transition to high school. Qualitative inquiry and rapid, iterative, randomized ``A/B'' experiments were conducted with {$\sim$}3,000 participants to inform intervention revisions for this population. Next, 2 experimental evaluations showed that the revised growth mindset intervention was an improvement over previous versions in terms of short-term proxy outcomes (Study 1, N = 7,501), and it improved 9th grade core-course GPA and reduced D/F GPAs for lower achieving students when delivered via the Internet under routine conditions with {$\sim$}95\% of students at 10 schools (Study 2, N = 3,676). Although the intervention could still be improved even further, the current research provides a model for how to improve and scale interventions that begin to address pressing educational problems. It also provides insight into how to teach a growth mindset more effectively. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2017 APA, all rights reserved)},

abstract = {Two largely separate bodies of empirical research have shown that academic achievement is influenced by structural factors, such as socioeconomic background, and psychological factors, such as students' beliefs about their abilities. In this research, we use a nationwide sample of high school students from Chile to investigate how these factors interact on a systemic level. Confirming prior research, we find that family income is a strong predictor of achievement. Extending prior research, we find that a growth mindset (the belief that intelligence is not fixed and can be developed) is a comparably strong predictor of achievement and that it exhibits a positive relationship with achievement across all of the socioeconomic strata in the country. Furthermore, we find that students from lower-income families were less likely to hold a growth mindset than their wealthier peers, but those who did hold a growth mindset were appreciably buffered against the deleterious effects of poverty on achievement: students in the lowest 10th percentile of family income who exhibited a growth mindset showed academic performance as high as that of fixed mindset students from the 80th income percentile. These results suggest that students' mindsets may temper or exacerbate the effects of economic disadvantage on a systemic level.},
