I have taken a look.
A lot has changed in the distribution of Minecraft in 1.18 and in the versions of Java.
The actual Minecraft code hasn't changed that much (at least the parts mc-chunker interfaces with).
I have a workable solution, but there is still some work left. I will need a few more days.

In the meantime, I can also offer an alternative. Fabric (the mod loader) can be used to do the same thing or even more.

Thank you. I look forward to that. I would use fabric but right now mods like chunky cause servers to crash. I also do my generation from a more powerful server over a network share. I have plenty of internal bandwidth so its a better option for me.
