Code for Japan,the largest civic tech community in Japan, aims to break through the current situation in Japan's social sector through organizing “Civictech Accelerator Program”. Many NGOs have participated in the monthly Social Hack Day of the hackathon held by Code for Japan, and worked together with IT engineers for prototyping. However, it is hard for them to get prototypes to release due to the financial resources. The Civictech Accelerator Program aims to solve social issues by selecting promising product candidates and developing them by engineers with paying fees. In important fields such as disasters, education, and minority issues, Code for Japan will take the lead in developing open source products.
