I am a queer female living in NYC, building useful tooling for Haskell, and producing educational content for young FP enthusiasts and more advanced adherents. I am a member of the Haskell core libraries committee, Haskell.org committee.
I am currently working on funding mathematical + fp educational materials, and open source work to help build out the fundamental OSS libraries Haskell requires. This includes but is not limited to:
Educational content:
- Category theory
- Algebraic Topology
- Homotopy theory
- Type theory
- Computer science
Open source software:
- Performant base encoding libraries
- SIMD support for GHC
- Better YAML libraries
- "Enterprise" logging libraries
- Derived typelevel wire formats
- An implementation of the category of files and patches in Haskell
I'm looking to push out monthly posts and content updates on the educational content regardless of sponsorship.
Sponsorship is important because it helps ease some of the tension between the spare time I use for contributions, and my day job, which is demanding. Funds will be used to produce any of the above features, and exclusively to that end. This includes helping to buy supplies needed (books and a proper keyboard - i live on a MBP from work, hooked up to a monitor right now, which is not ideal), as well as the ease of movement that comes from funding.
Additionally, I would like to help this pay forward in terms of helping other minority members of the community with training, mentorship, and commit bits they can freely cite on their respective resumés.
