Freifunk Düsseldorf e.V. is a non-profit legal entity. We can accept fully tax-deducible donations.

For expanding and maintaining the network, our money goes into:

• 🤘 acquisition of networking hardware (wireless access points, switches, routers - many of them!)
• 💸 some monthly fees for servers (though we prefer self-hosting)
• 👷 occasionally for paying professional workers (helping us with the more dangerous installation tasks)

Members of the team are working voluntarily and only get paid in knowledge. 🤓

We bring wireless Internet access to everyone, but with a focus on those in need:

• ⛵ refugees accommodations
• 🏘️ homeless shelters
• 🏙️ public streets and places

On GitHub, we publish the code and configuration for our projects. We contribute to upstream and help others as often as we can. We love free and open-source software. ❤️
