Become a sponsor to David R. Smith
Hi!
My name is Dave Smith, but I go by mowdownjoe on many places on the web. I live in New Jersey and graduated from NJIT in 2017. From there, I wandered the globe aimlessly looking for employment for years, but to no avail. (Only a minor exaggeration.) In that time, I took part in game jams, fooled around with Android (and even got an Android Nanodegree), and even tried (and failed) to launch a streaming empire.
Basically, I like to code. And I like to create.
So, what are you working on?
Lots of things!
Okay, that's not very helpful. But I am like many developers, with so many side projects and no ability to commit to a single one. I'm always chasing a new, shiny idea to challenge myself and expand my skillset. Sometimes, it's a game jam, where the game I make will likely just be given away for free. Sometimes, it's a quick Android project that tickled my fancy. And every now and then, I might work on my dream game.
So, why should I sponsor you?
Simply put: all you're paying for is keeping the lights on. Finding employment in my field requires keeping up-to-date with the latest technology, which becomes problematic when you don't have electricity to power your computer. Ideally, I'd love to be able to be completely independent, but I'll take what I can get.
In return, I promise to commit code to repo, and bring you something at least once a month. What I bring you may not be complete right then, but it could be in the future. Think of it as me signing up for Game Jams and Hackathons every month or so.
Thank you for any support you can give me.
