  • [ ] Who are you, and where are you from?
I began to write software at a very young age, learning BASIC and ANSI C at age 6. Since then, I have expanded my knowledge to many more languages, with my two languages of choice being VB.NET and C++. My technical skill in the art has grown from simple scripted tasks of convenience and exploration of low level computer architecture to become very useful in my academic work as a chemical engineer and chemist and in my leisurely pursuits in cryptographic and steganographic communication and pure mathematics.

  • [ ] What are you working on?
I have many projects from academic pursuits that have resulted in useful tools to handle data and several tangential interests of a more abstract nature, including libraries for useful new data types. Some of these tools and data types have become private repository pet projects on their own, such as a generic Feistel network based encryption and a quaternion class for C++. On the less professional side of things, I also have a game that passed the GreenLight process on the Steam platform just before the GreenLight program was ended. A long term goal is to complete this game, a simple particle simulator written in high school and undergrad, and publish it. I continue work across these broad and diverse disciplines as a pastime for personal entertainment and to sharpen my skills while solving difficult problems.

  • [ ] Why is their sponsorship important? How will you use the funds?
Your sponsorship motivates me to continue developing my software and to provide it as FOSS. Private repositories of work-in-progress code are something everyone has laying around. Making the effort to publish that work and then maintain it, to make personal entertainment into a collaborative project with the public, does not directly pay bills and directly competes for time otherwise spent on work that does have a more immediate financial impact. Any funding would change the balance and would be considered advance payment for time spent on the projects involved at a reasonable hourly rate.
