I noticed that the plugin version available in the repositories of Android Studio and here do not match. Also there is no release tag in the repository which would be helpful.

Actually, v.1.0.1 is not working for me in Android Studio 0.5.8. - the search dialog never finds any Post events.

That is a different plugin. We have never released this plugin to Jetbrain's repository.
