Switching Desktops with Scroll Wheel is Inconsistent

This is an awesome app, and an idea that just makes so much sense! Sadly it is not working consistently.

When I hover over the taskbar and scroll, sometimes it will switch desktops, and sometimes it won't.

I have found that if I click the taskbar before scrolling, it definitely doesn't work.
I found that clicking a window of a currently open application, then hovering over an empty spot of the taskbar and scrolling was the most reliable way to get it to switch, but even then it felt like 50/50.

I don't know if it has to do with certain application permissions (if some are being run as admin or something like that), but sadly it makes it difficult to use right now. I am definitely looking forward to it working more reliably, because for desktop users that want to use virtual desktops I really think this is a game changer (because the default shortcuts are horrible)!

I feel another idea that could be helpful if the issue is something that cannot be fixed, is if we either had to hover the mouse over the task view button, or even the Virtual Desktop Extension tray icon that can be pinned onto the taskbar (or a specific part of the taskbar) to make it work more reliably.
