Cannot Create a Repo in App

I have not been successful once at creating a git repo locally on device, I have the identifiers filled out (name and email), I tried creating a repo with and without initial files, and I always get the same error code when i try to create any branch.

Whenever I try to create a repo, it says it initializes successfully, but I cannot make a commit. It acts like there is no branches to choose from, so I try to create a new branch with the UI but I get an error ‘reference reps/heads/master not found’.

I am using a M4 13” iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard

Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Note: If I use the apps terminal with lg2 I can create an initial commit, but i have to assign a user.name and user.email every project constantly, and I have to force close the app and reopen it to use the UI for it to acknowledge the repo correctly
