Far out idea - give users a way to distinguish between a regular review and an "expectation" review. Users could review a movie before they see it and then after they could compare their expectations to reality. This would allow us to show stats on the site like "This movie outperformed expectations by 30% or this movie under performed for 30% of people or something like that. I'm not sure how many people would actually do this, but thought it could be interesting.

I like this idea... I think the "expectation" review should be based base on a single 1-10 rating scale instead of all 10 categories. I think it would be difficult to have an expectation on all 10 categories going into a movie... Maybe a User can optional review each category? What are your thoughts @ddale33
