CfP for Code, Speak, Repeat meetups

Code, Speak, Repeat is a series of meetups for programmers to get to like public speaking.

Each meetup features a short talk, a keynote and a workshop for attendees to discuss one of the topics of their interest in groups.

Currently, we have the following talking opportunities:

  • Lightning talk: Am I too junior to do talk about code?
  • Long talk: How to define a good topic for my talk?

Meetup on April 8:

  • Lightning talk: How do I make slides for my talk about code?
  • Long talk: Doing likeable talks for programmers

Meetup on June 1:

  • Lightning talk: 3 ways to make trouble when doing a tech talk
  • Long talk: What I learned from years of public speaking

Apply for speaking

Would you like to share your experience on any of the suggested topics to inspire fellow programmers to do more public talks? Do you have a better topic in mind? Raise an issue or email to devrel.events@gmail.com

Each meetup features a workshop where we discuss common speaker challenges like:

  • Why speak at a local meetup
  • Being in the centre of attention as a speaker
  • Why public speaking is useful for me as a programmer
  • How do I persuade my manager to send me to a developer conference
  • Why and when decline a speaking opportunity

You’re very welcome to join as an attendee, bring in your own topic for a workshop and/or facilitate a discussion for any of the workshop topics.

Thank you!
