While on Windows you'll see the directories using capitalization in their app name and author, on unix it has historically used all lowercase names for app dot-files/directories for the most part. Would it be worth adding an option which will make it do-the-right-thing (tm) based on a platform's typical naming convention?
I first thought the
opinion
parameter could be used to control such a feature, but it just seems to be a boolean. On a side note, would it be worth changing that to a list/tuple (having a boolean compatibility fallback) to allow the end developer to pick an choose which opinionated features to use, rather than an all-or-nothing approach?If such a feature was added, my thoughts on its implementation:
Also, spaces may be something worth re-writing for the same reasons. Though, I'm not sure what the best handling for that would be.. replacing them with and underscore or dash, or simply removing the spaces altogether.
