Hi, testing the latest fw 79.4, noticed when emulation is changed to Smartport and the Smartport file list is displayed, it starts with 0 index to 3 (should be 1-4) and the RD icon shows the wrong image being loaded? It still loads the correct image as per index selection in the config menu just displays the wrong file being loaded in the list ;-)

Also just thinking (possible future enhancement) if it would be possible to simply mount one of the four hdd images to boot just like a disk image. I guess once Smartport mode is selected it only allows 4 files with vol0.. to be mounted? This will remove the need to select index number making it much easier to know what file is selected.

Finally, noticed there is a config menu option " Boot folder" not sure what this does as it cant be selected?

Thanks again, awesome device!

Hello, thanks for your input,
I have changed the way Smartport image are working and also fixing a lot of stuff.
Now the first device to boot is marked with a *
Starting to number image from 1
BootIndex determines the first device to boot,
Also managing unmounted image to avoid crash
Also fixing IIGS timing issue when booting
Fixing the TIMER2 Period
I hope it will work a bit better.

I need to continue to work on the write part of Smartport
Thanks for your feedback on release 0.79.6

Hi, I tested 79.6 , smartport file list working nice , tested on iie and iic both look good and map 4 drives.

Quick question, I have been reading that Prodos8 2.5 can map 8 virtual drives, I have seen other devices map 8 drives (block device mode) do you think this is possible in future firmware as this would cover most of the software library on apple II lol :-)

Well I have checked, and it might be possible only if you write to Apple II mem (0 page) which is not possible from an external device (Prodos 8 tech note 20). I guess Booti is doing that.
