vcsim: Why datastore metrics datastore.numberReadAveraged.average and datastore.numberWriteAveraged.average not populated in vcsim

• I installed govc and vcsim in centos vm.
• For the default created object of datastore, when I tried to retrieve the metrics datastore.numberReadAveraged.average and datastore.numberWriteAveraged.average, values are not available.

What am I missing here?

[root@diagnostics ~]# govc metric.sample /DC0/host/DC0_C0/DC0_C0_H0/LocalDS_0 datastore.numberWriteAveraged.average
LocalDS_0  *  datastore.numberWriteAveraged.average      num
[root@diagnostics ~]# govc metric.sample /DC0/host/DC0_C0/DC0_C0_H0/LocalDS_0 datastore.numberReadAveraged.average
LocalDS_0  *  datastore.numberReadAveraged.average      num
[root@diagnostics ~]#
[root@diagnostics ~]# govc ls /DC0/datastore
/DC0/datastore/LocalDS_0
[root@diagnostics ~]#

Similar to the above two read and write avg metrics, the below two io-related metrics are also not having any values.

[root@diagnostics ~]# govc metric.sample /DC0/host/DC0_C0/DC0_C0_H0/LocalDS_0  datastore.totalReadLatency.average
LocalDS_0  *  datastore.totalReadLatency.average      ms
[root@diagnostics ~]# govc metric.sample /DC0/host/DC0_C0/DC0_C0_H0/LocalDS_0/ datastore.totalWriteLatency.average
LocalDS_0  *  datastore.totalWriteLatency.average      ms

I connected real ESXi node to be managed by govc and tried collecting performance metrics. It seems to be working fine.
Why not for vcsim?
