User Feedback for Failed Port Conditions

In application mode, there is no way for the user to notice that port conditions fail(ed). Instead they are left wondering why the next processing step is no executed or why nothing is rendered. We should provide some way to inform the user, e.g., message boxes or a separate "issue"/"problems" view.
