I use MacPorts, and it is not compatible. They don’t play nice.

Could you try installing it via homebrew instead?

I can confirm I get this too on Sonoma 14.1 M1 Pro, both with the regular and the updated binaries. Installing via Homebrew works. |

An update: Newest binary didn't work for me on an updated Mac, but installing via Homebrew did fix the issue for me. |

Vlad,
I have moved on from Evernote and after many years have decide to terminate my subscription.
So this issue is now moot.

For anyone else having this issue: I was having the same error using the Windows binary. Tried OSX with Brew, had a different auth issue. I tried --oath option and that worked a charm. I think part of the issue was also Evernote free tier's tight device restrictions. I removed Google auth (profile settings) and also had the machine I was running as the only allowed device on the account (opened Evernote Mac app, removed Web Access in favor of the mac machine). IDK if those were neccessary, but that's what I did. Run: evernote-backup init-db --oauth A browser window opens, log in, it closes, everything worked an absolute treat after that. Thanks Vlad!! Getting this done was huge for me and the Evernote exporter was failing. |

I'm a Windows 11 user, using Evernote 10.103.5-win-ddl-public (20240901203545). I'm having the same issue with the SSL certificate verification, whether I try logging in with evernote-backup init-db --user or evernote-backup init-db --oauth With --oauth, the web prompt pops up, I accept it, but I get the same error:- Logging in to Evernote... Is there a way to fix this? I last used Evernote-backup three months ago, and it worked fine then. |

When I try to init-db, I get the following error message:
ssl.SSLCertVerificationError: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1131)
