Unlike other NWS offices, the list of counties and zones for Anchorage, AK are scattered among three different entries under https://api.weather.gov/offices/XXX: AFC (Anchorage) contains all of the counties but no zones. Further, the entries for AER and ALU contain URLs for offices that do not exist (e.g. https://www.weather.gov/ALU). Can anyone provide the reasoning behind this? Is this maybe a temporary step along the way of a planned division of the Anchorage responsibilities? Thanks a lot! |

Anchorage WFO is very large in area and has two different grid domains in the software used to create and update the forecast grids. It is the only WFO set up this way. I have documented these API offices endpoint inconsistencies in a ticket for future improvement consideration. |

Thanks. I can totally work around this for the time being knowing that it's intended to be like this for now. |
