Pattern doesn't work with ! at the beginning

There doesn't appear to be a way to get a $ at the beginning of a pattern it blows up with a length exception.

@owlyowl I ran into the same issue trying to get the euro currency to the left of the amount.
If you look a the source code it has the default patterns, EUR has a default of #,##0.00 !, so using the pattern <Currency pattern="!#,##0.00" ... seems to work.
