Have you considered using webarchive format and or pdf for archiving? .war is pretty standard now

Hey,
The current approach is basicially just downloading the html pages (with resources like images, stylesheets & javascript) and putting them in directories.

The goal is to save the websites in their original form, so I didn't want to convert them straight into another format (like pdf). Do you mean something like a button to download a screenshot of the website as pdf file (or a war file of the site) on the details page?

maybe options to convert the html to pdf on download and option to save as warc too
