When I try to log in to view my wallet and enter the password, it gives me this Fatal error. Any tips?

I am also getting this error under a different context.

I am installing on Windows and using the import existing addresses during install rather than creating a new address. I also get the "Failed to execute script electrum" and the installer ends.

Wasnt sure if it was better to add a new issue, or add this here in helps of tracking down the cause.

Looks like this could be an issue with our pyinstaller -
pyinstaller/pyinstaller#2015

Will investigate, thank you

Please try the latest release with your backed up wallet.
Don't forget to go to Tools -> Network -> Server and use either electrum.zclcore.com:50002 or electrum.schlachter.mx:50002.

Can this issue be closed (no news since almost one year) ?

I had this issue today -- the text in Electrum 4.0.2 was something like "Failed to execute script run_electrum." I updated to 4.0.4 (interesting choice of versions...) and got no text, just failed to run. I am able to reproduce the error if my VPN is running with the setting to stop any internet connectivity if the VPN is not active (Kill Switch). Also sometimes if I start Electrum while not on line. Had to do a restart, since after the error / failure to start, Electrum shows up in Task Manager but it is not accessible. Stopping the process did not help. If I restart the system, then make sure I am on line and/or the VPN's Kill Switch is not active, Electrum runs fine. Hope that helps.
