Reddit once went wild (223k+ views!) for a clean Proxmox UI trick. But manually updating those notes every time you spin up a project? That’s for mortals.

In Zelogx MSL Setup v1.3, I’ve decided to automate the "Art." No more manual copy-pasting or guessing where your traffic flows. The tool now auto-populates Host and VM Notes with full architecture maps, SDN zones (like vpndmz and devpj01), and VPN connection guides.

Host Level: The Grand Map

• Automatically maps out the Nftables/SDN Engine and the isolated "Multiverse" zones.

VPN Gateway (Pritunl) Level: Connection Metadata

• Displays the active VPN pools (192.168.81.0/25) and routing paths at a glance.

New look for the Pritunl VM notes 👀

I’ve added small shields.io badges at the top of the Notes panel in Proxmox.
Now I can jump to the Pritunl GUI / docs / FW rules with Ctrl+Click from inside the VM notes.

Tiny change, but it makes the VM feel like a mini control panel.

Pro-tip: Elevate your Notes with Dynamic Badges
To make your VM Notes even more functional and "dashboard-like," you can embed custom badges using Shields.io. This is not just for aesthetics—it acts as a visual status indicator and a quick-access portal.

For example, I use the following snippet to create a direct link to the Pritunl GUI within the VM Notes:

Adding SSH launch links in Proxmox Notes makes life easier

Today’s tip

Above Screenshot is how it looks.

If you just want a simple SSH link

Edit the Notes field and add:

[ssh](ssh://user:pass@<IP>)

If you want a slightly nicer badge using shields.io

Example for 192.168.77.10:

Security note

If you omit user:pass, it’s more secure.

If you don't want to include credentials at all, you can also remove @:

Clicking the link will launch your local SSH client (depending on your OS default handler).

Small trick, but surprisingly convenient when you manage multiple VMs in Proxmox.

I personally prefer using Tera Term.

If the link above does not launch Tera Term, try reinstalling it using the Installer (.exe) version.
After installation, you should be able to set Tera Term as the default handler for the ssh:// protocol from Windows Settings → Default apps.
