Unify spacing in the sidebar when expanded vs not expanded

I like the feature, that expands the sidebar on hover. But the spacing in the tabs area is different when the sidebar is collapsed or expanded.
In the expanded version there is a divider, and I believe a bigger margin around the new tab button. That causes the tabs to be at slightly different places when trying to hover over a tab. It's visible on the following screenshots.

It would be awesome, if there was a way to unify the spacing, so that the tabs are always at the same position.
