See the results of a test run at

/g/data/tm70/pcl851/CMIP7/esm16_ancil/modern/historical/atmosphere/forcing/resolution_independent/2025.10.20/TSI_CMIP7_ESM

Years 1700 to 1849 contain 1361.603
Years 2023 to 2300 contain -1073741824.0

I'd prefer the pre 1850 values to be set to the PI 1361.617.

The average for 1850 in that file is 1361.782

The per-year mean is calculated using year_cube.collapsed("time", iris.analysis.MEAN) using the calendar from the CMIP7 forcing dataset.
