Welcome to the ACS-Workshop wiki!

ACS Workshops are intended for software developers that will be involved in designing and implementing domain specific applications using the ALMA Common Software (ACS) Framework. These applications normally include software to control and monitor antenna and/or telescopes as well as instruments.

The workshops have been organized by different institutions since 2004. These are usually structured as community meetings, followed by technical talks and discussions including hands-on development of an observatory software toy model. This wiki contains the course organization guidelines and technical material, as well as access to the code developed during these events aiming to be a useful resource for past (and future) participants.

It is assumed that attendees to an ACS workshop are sufficiently knowledgeable about object oriented programming, C++ and/or Java and familiar with python scripting language and CORBA. Useful links to relevant information can be found in the reference documentation (see below).
