Steamroller: An AUR helper that creates a local repo from which pacman installs packages. INSTALLATION: Dependencies: Perl LWP::Simple (perl-libwww) JSON (perl-json) pacman sudo (optional) Files: steamroller.conf -> /etc/ steamroller.pl -> ${PATH}/steamroller and make executable AUR.pm -> /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Bolts/Steamroller Makepkg.pm -> /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Bolts/Steamroller Setup: Create a directory to contain the repo. It must be writable to the user(s) allowed to modify the repo. $HOME/pkgs is a good choice for a single user system. Edit /etc/steamroller.conf to point to the directory containing the repo. Change any other settings (PacmanBin, RepoName, BuildDir) you desire. Edit /etc/pacman.conf and add the following, substituting steamroller.conf variable names with their values: # Local steamroller repository [<RepoName>] Server = file://<RepoDir> Run `steamroller -S <pkgname>' to create the repo Run `pacman -Sy <pkgname>' to install the package. OPTIONS: Modes: -S, --sync : Retrieve taurball for specified packages, build them and add them to the repo -U, --upgrade : Build and add package to the repo from a local taurball -R, --remove : remove package from local repo Sync Options: -u, --update : Check AUR for updates to packages, and build and add to any updates found. -i, --info : Get package information from AUR -s, --search : Search AUR for string specified. Remove Options: -n, --no-save : Delete packages removed from the repo
