I have adjusted the mesh decomposition code so that it can support subdomains/mesh tallies of non-uniform sizes. This functionality is demonstrated in 1D with
slab_reed_dd
, and in 3D withslab_reed_dd_3d
in the test suite. Currently, the 1D test passes without any issues, but the 3D test fails to replicate the stdev values of its answer file in exactly three tally bins. This is similar to an issue I encountered in the DD code earlier (#231) and I may be able to fix it if I play around with the input file some more.I also changed the mesh decomposition code so that all subdomain tally structures have the same size when they are created, equivalent to the largest subdomain, and then only use the space they need for their subdomain. This should allow us to run DD with variable-sized tallies on GPUs as well as CPUs; I can't currently test this code on GPUs, but if someone else is willing to run
slab_reed_dd
on Tioga, it should work without a hitch.
