Feedback:
Overall, thought this was a cool homework and a nice addition to class, focusing on a more modern algorithm. A few things that could be improved:

  • A smaller test scene would be nice, I found both the Bike and the Bonzai scenes took kind of long to load, so testing small changes involved more waiting than coding.
  • The linked resources for how to compute the splat attributes (cov, radius, etc) was kind of confusing, especially when trying to read it along with the paper. They switched up some notation so it was confusing what mean what and what was the correct information to follow.
