I assumed you'd have to create an empty file.
Did you see what would happen to chia-blockchain with this change?

Or the not out of date but also no change to blockchain except using #125... Chia-Network/chia-blockchain#16898 with mypy results at https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/actions/runs/6938161509/job/18873463089?pr=16898
