3. Using Separators
Separators can keep your modlist organised by grouping mods together.
- To create a separator click anywhere on the modlist panel or on another mod or separator
- Click add separator above or below and give it a name.
All mods under this separator will now be in its "group". That group ends when it either get to the bottom of the modlist or another separator.
Separators can be contracted with the blue arrow on the left hand side. There is also a expand and contract all separators button at the bottom of the panel
You can right click a separator and change it's color.
Separators can be hidden by clicking fliters at the bottom and selecting Hide separators, If a separator is contracted while you do this, it will also hide the mods. Simply expand all separators to show all the mods
By default when you drag a separator, it will move freely by itself. However we can use the checkbox on the right hand side of the separator to lock the mods below it to that separator
When we move a separator that is locked, all of the mods in it will move with it. When the separator is contracted, the mods within it still move with it.
Separators have a special feature that allows us to configure an alternate location of where we want the mods within it to go.
- Right click a separator and select separator settings.
- In deployment location, set the location you want the files of the mods in that separator to go
- In this example I'm sending my skyrim ini files to the prefix ~/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition
- This allows me to have multiple ini files that I can quickly change between. Or I can use this to make another profile use different Ini files
- To do this I simply, Right click > Create empty mod > Place my ini files in this folder > enable the mod and move it below the separator.
- You can press the generate separators button at the bottom of the modlist window. This will create separators based on the mods category
- Disabled mods and mods with conflicts will be ignored so that they are not moved around and break the load order. Mods that are already in separators will also be ignored.
- You can get the category for each mod by logging into nexus (Nexus button > settings) and pressing check updates. This will retrieve the category for each mod. The category should also appear when installing a mod while logged into Nexus
