Rapid Environmental Editor
This can be very useful if you:
- work for the City of Philadelphia and are usually using our web proxy while at work
BUT ALSO
- use a laptop at work that you take other places that are not on the proxy (or you just use wifi at work sometimes like in meetings)
A lot of the development process described here requires a lot of programs (node, git, sourceTree) talking to the web, and if you go on and off the proxy a lot of the time, you have to change your environmental variables a lot so that they work.
When you are on the City of Philadelphia network, you need these 2 System Variables:
- http_proxy=http://proxy.phila.gov:8080
- https_proxy=http://proxy.phila.gov:8080
When you are on wifi, you need them to NOT be in your variables.
This program just makes it really easy to add and delete System Variables, especially these 2.

Note - any program that is giving you a network error (like ConEmu or SourceTree) has to be restarted after you change and save your variable settings.
