Wiki TLDR
A brief summary of the most important parts of the wiki, with links to the relevant sections for more info
Rockbox is required for adwaitapod to work. The last release, 3.15, is recommended. However, the daily dev builds also work and are a slightly better experience currently. For any issues installing or using Rockbox, please go to the Rockbox Forums or other relevant channels like the subreddit or IRC server.
Automatic installation can be performed via the Rockbox Utility application, manual installation can be done with files download from the Rockbox Themes site, or the Github page's Downloads section. If installation is done via Rockbox (either site or application), the language support will be limited to Latin characters and you will need to install the extra language pack manually.
Adwaitapod has a lot going on! Check out the wiki page for each of the menus and players to understand their functions. Every page has diagrams as well as detailed information on functionality, customisation and known, but unfixable bugs and glitches.
Accessibility has been at the forefront of the design process. Features like scrollbars can be turned on in settings, and the selection colour can be greatly customised to improve legibility. Larger fonts are also offered in the Github downloads section. If adwaitapod isn't accessible to you, please reach out! User feedback has been fundamental in making adwaitapod better for everyone.
Adwaitapod features many custom settings that let you change how your experience feels and works without leaving your iPod. For example, you can make album art square instead of rounded, set just the Artist's name to show (or just the Album title), and even change the lockscreen out for an Always on Display!
The Github downloads section features a myriad of extras to even further customise your experience. 8 different Wallpaper styles can be applied to change up the Lockscreen experience, each with a light and dark variant. The accent colour pack also provides users with the option to change out the blue accents for something more personal, with options like yellow, green and red.
Often, changing themes, your preferences can be unfortunately lost due to how Rockbox works. With this in mind, the .cfg file for your chosen variant features the ability to make your preferences permanent. Each option is well documented and easy to change. There's also options for adding smooth scrolling text!
If your quickscreen buttons are set to the right settings, then adwaitapod will use a new, custom quickscreen style. This is far more user friendly and engaging, and is intended as a preview of what Rockbox could look like in the near future with the right changes.
While Rockbox doesn't support Explicit metadata tags, adwaitapod classic has a custom system that can read an emoji from your song's filename and display an Explicit content icon in the player.
