Welcome to the Doodle3D WiFi-Box wiki!
The Doodle3D WiFi-Box is modified wireless network router (based on the TP-Link MR-3020) to let smartphones, tablets and computers connect to a 3D-printer over WiFi.
This image shows the role of the WiFi-Box in the process of sending a drawing from a tablet to a 3D-printer:
This diagram explains how the WiFi-Box connects drawing apps on different devices over WiFi to 3D-printers through USB:
The Doodle3D WiFi-Box project consists of 3 sub-projects, each containing their own code, issues and documentation.
- print3d: our 3D print server.
- Doodle3D-firmware: our API to communicate with print3d and to configure the WiFi-Box.
- Doodle3D-client: our initial Doodle3D drawing app.
Those 3 repositories are built into an OpenWrt image which is flashed to the WiFi-Box.
