Hey there! monica welcomes you!

Who is monica?

monica, MinION Open-source Nucleotide Identifier for Continuous Analysis, is an open source pathogen identifier for real-time analysis on MinION sequencer output.

It aims to provide with a fast answer on user personal suspicions about specific potential pathogen presence, containing both qualitative and quantitative information. This because it won't only provide with a binary answer to the presence (or absence) of a pathogen, but it will also quantify the infection level thanks to the amount of sequenced data!

If on this first phase it will give the user an immediate response, on the second stage it will also yield information as complete as possible about the whole set of different organisms that are present in user investigated sample, precise at the strain level, again both under a qualitative and a quantitative point of view.
