The author has written several books like the Prophet, The Madman and The Broken Wings. Khalil Gibran was neglected for a long period of time by the scholars and critics but he continued working to bring improvement.

The broken wings is a story which is based on the real life of Khalil who falls in love with a pretty and a beautiful lady namely “Salma”. Furthermore, his life was full of sorrow, hardship and obstacles.
He used to dream about living in heaven which was too much beautiful and was enjoying a lot and he met with a beautiful lady with beautiful and white dress.
He felt in love with her and got married as well but he was just dreaming.
Once Khalil met with his father’s friend and was very close to his father. Gibran didn’t know him before but after all they both had a nice gathering with him.
After that Gibran was called to visit his home. Gibran did not know that it was his changing point of his life.
Gibran went his home and there his eyes glanced a beautiful lady that was his father’s friend daughter named Salma. Gibran felt in love with her. He used to visit more just to see Salma once in a day. Salma also felt in love and they used to discuss each day.
With the passage of time, they both decided to marry but due to financial problems, they could not marry. Few months later, Salma got married with a rich man but he was very cruel and Salma was not happy at all.
Salma got pregnant and during the birth of her child, she passed away.
When Khalil listened about her, he became mentally ill and was completely broken. His life ended with the death of Salma.
