Overview

Exporting a binaural stereo mix from E4L is best done by capturing the output of a binaural decoder in the E4L Master Bus in real-time. This ensures that all track and panning automation is processed by the E4L devices (when using the Ableton Export Audio/Video feature, the E4L Max for Live devices may not receive all automation events).

Master Bus

Create an E4L project with an E4L Master Bus and select the binaural decoder that you prefer.

E4L Master Bus

Export Track

Create a blank Ableton audio track to capture the stereo recording. Set the Input Type of this track to E4L Master and the Input Channel to 3/4-E4L Master Bus, which corresponds to the stereo binaural output of the decoder. Arm the track to record.

Record

Hit the main Live Record button and this track will now capture the stereo audio from your binaural mix. You can then export or process this stereo binaural audio file however you like.
