This repository contains the system developed by Team BASETTE for the CLEF 2025 LongEval Lab (Task 1 – Web Retrieval).
The work, published in the CLEF 2025 Working Notes, describes a configurable and multithreaded Information Retrieval system built in Java and powered by Apache Lucene.
The system was designed to run efficiently on basic, resource-constrained hardware, deliberately avoiding GPUs, while achieving high performance through classical IR techniques, parallel indexing, and query processing.
Hyperparameter optimization was conducted using Optuna, and the project explores both effective and discarded strategies for robust retrieval under real-world conditions.
ArenaStudios A.P.S. – custom Minecraft network and non-profit association.
Co-founded and developed a fully custom infrastructure supporting Minecraft 1.8 – 1.21.x with capacity for 3000+ concurrent players and 100% uptime.
Replaced all public plugins with in-house Java solutions, enabling scalable generic servers capable of loading and running multiple game modes simultaneously.
Designed and deployed arenacraft.it (Vue.js + Laravel) with real-time player stats and a donation gateway.
Built a custom online shop powered by Stripe, replacing Tebex and drastically reducing costs while improving branding and payment control.
Repository for the Web Applications 2024/25 course project.
The web application was developed only using raw HTML, CSS and Java as backend.
