really epic midi files take full control of that, using effects that are just rendered as nothing on a regular synth

the only compatibility issues between a full-on everything midi and microsoft roland gm wavetable synth is that some players (like Fruity LSD) render GS mapped instruments as silence while others (like FluidSynth) render them remapped to bank 0
